Situated in the softly rolling hills of Northamptonshire lies one of the counties premier natural fisheries. Nestled in a peaceful shallow valley, overlooked by the famous Canons Ashby Manor House, lie two large lakes proudly managed by the Castle Angling Association. Both lakes are easily accessible by well-maintained paths and contain a total of 55 spacious fishing stations between them, of which two on the bottom lake are fitted out for disabled anglers.

These well balanced lakes contain a large variety of fish species and sizes to satisfy any standard of angler, from the complete novice to the experienced specimen hunter. The main species being Carp [to the high 20’s], skimmer and bronze bream to 4lb, perch to 3lb, roach to 1lb 8oz and crucians to 2lb. Double figure catches of silver fish are common throughout the year.

The lakes are available for match bookings but one lake is always available for the pleasure anglers. The association runs two silver fish leagues, in the Spring and Autumn, the details of which will be in our latest news section  and advertised in your local tackle shop.

We also run friendly matches on Wednesday’s [Draw 08:30]. Details of pegs booked for matches are given on the water’s notice board.

The fishery is situated 300m down the valley from the Manor House main car park.
